Word Wall

As you are reading your stories, I would like you to build a list of new vocabulary terms.  We know what the "rule of five" looks like for a good fit book. Keeping that rule in mind lets try to see if we can find one "new" or "challenging" word for each page that we read.  Once you have located that word, please write it down in your duotang.

Following your reading session, you will add that tricky word to your word wall. Please make sure you indicate the page # it is on and you give a brief definition of what the word means.

Change....

The last couple of chapters in Four Seasons of Patrick have been focused on change.  Patrick isn't the biggest fan of this change and has made that quite clear.  As humans, it is our natural reaction to not like change.  We usually are creatures of habit and we like things to be a certain way.

Todays Assignment: On your blog, please post about a time in your life where you were forced to make a change that you weren't a big fan of.  Your post should include both text and graphics.  Please see the example post below that I made.

My Fictional Character

In the Mighty Ducks movies the character that most interested me was Charlie Conway.  He was the main character in the story and I really admired how hard he worked.  His mom and dad got divorced and his Dad wasn't around when he grew up. He wasn't the best player but he tried the hardest and was named captain of his team. He also scored the game winning goal against the Hawks on a penalty shot.

We are FLYING on March 18th... I couldn't be more excited for this and I hope you share the same feelings.  It is going to be simply amazing!!! Thursday Night Write

Hi 3H,

Tomorrow you will be writing a paragraph about the beach.  You will need to pull in all of your senses and really describe this setting in great detail!

Tonight when you close your eyes to go to sleep I want you to dream about being on the beach(this is what I do every night)! Hopefully those dreams will help you with the paragraph tomorrow.
